Xero is introducing new steps to ensure user’s data is more secure online.
Xero will make 2 step authentication mandatory for its software including all xero partner add-ons starting from 22 January 2018. It was due to an increase of unauthorised access of data, and online identity theft.
What does this mean for our Xero users?
From 22 January all Xero users will need 2 step authentication enabled to access Xero or any related add-on product.
This means your login process will require extra steps – using either additional security questions during your login process, or using the code generator app on your smart phone.
If you don’t currently use 2 step authentication in Xero, you’ll need to set this up before the cutover date of 22 January.
